Jujo Thermal Oy (Finland), a joint-venture thermal paper producer set up by Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Masatomo Nakamura), has decided to acquire all shares in Ahlstrom Kauttua Oy from Ahlstrom Corporation (head office: Finland), a joint venture partner. Ahlstrom Kauttua Oy is a subsidiary of Ahlstrom Corporation.

As one of the actions being taken to boost thermal paper production announced on February 2 this year, Jujo Thermal will obtain a coater and a base paper production machine for thermal paper owned by Ahlstrom Kauttua with the purchase.

The thermal paper market in Europe is growing steadily and is expected to continue to expand in the future.
Producing thermal paper at Kauttua in southwestern Finland with the technical cooperation of Nippon Paper Industries, Jujo Thermal enjoys an excellent reputation in the market for the outstanding quality of its products.
Jujo Thermal will be capable of increasing thermal paper production by 30,000 tons a year in one year by modifying a coater obtained in the purchase. With the improvement in production capacity, Jujo Thermal will establish a position as a global thermal paper producer with the third largest production capacity in Europe, the world's largest thermal paper market.
