Nippon Paper Industries wishes to extend its heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Following the disaster, the Nippon Paper Industries Iwanuma Mill (Iwanuma, Miyagi Prefecture) has extended its utmost efforts for the early restoration . Paper Machine 1 returned to operation on May 11, and as a consequence, all production facilities at the Mill are once again operational.
The local residents of Iwanuma, its business partners and other related parties offered support and understanding in the lead up to the restoration. To show its gratitude, from May 11 Nippon Paper Industries is hoisting employee-made carp streamers* bearing the messages "Let's do our best, Iwanuma!" and "Let's do our best, Japan!" on the Mill premises.
