Nippon Paper Group, Inc.

Nippon Paper Group, Inc. (President: Yoshio Haga) is pleased to announce that it received an Outstanding Achievement Award in the green reporting category of the 15th Green Reporting and Sustainability Reporting Awards on January 30, in recognition of its Sustainability Report 2011 published at the end of October last year. This is the second time in succession that the Nippon Paper Group Sustainability Report, which outlines all of the Group's CSR activities, has received this award, following on from the year before last. The award ceremony will be held at Tokyo Kaikan on March 8.

The Green Reporting and Sustainability Reporting Awards were jointly established in 1998 by Toyo Keizai Inc. and the Green Reporting Forum, with the aim of raising awareness regarding environmental reporting and improving the quality of CSR activities. A total of 357 companies participated in the 15th awards this year, 78 of which were entered under the green reporting category. Receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award in this category singles out the Nippon Paper Group's report as the second best report out of all these companies, just behind the overall winner.

Spurred on by this second consecutive award, the Nippon Paper Group is determined to step up its CSR activities even further in the future.

The Nippon Paper Group Sustainability Report 2011 was published in two formats, a digest version and the full detailed version, both of which are available via the Group's website.
