Our company has today changed its name to Nippon Paper Group, Inc.

Four years have passed since Nippon Unipac Holding came into being as a pure holding company, a consequence of the business integration of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. and Daishowa Paper Manufacturing Co., Ltd. We have now almost completed the business reorganization of the Group, as a result of which Nippon Paper Industries is now responsible for the paper business while Nippon Daishowa Paperboard Co., Ltd. deals with the paperboard business.

We have decided to use this opportunity to change our corporate name. This change is based on the conviction that a high profile brand is essential if we are to fully harness the strength of our Group for continued growth in the future.

"Nippon Paper" is a name that will be familiar to our stakeholders. With this as part of our new corporate name, we will strive to establish a corporate brand as the leading company in the pulp & paper industry. We will also sustain our efforts to increase and expand our corporate value so that it will benefit our shareholders and our customers. We look forward to your continued support as we pursue these initiatives.
