Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Takahiko Miyoshi), Japan's leading paper and pulp manufacturing company and the core member of the Nippon Unipac Holding Group, is releasing an outdoor poster paper product, called STOUT®. Outdoor poster papers need to be water-resistant and durable enough to withstand outdoor conditions, and the Company has successfully developed STOUT® with ultimate properties in this regard.
STOUT®, an outdoor poster paper with ultimate durability
At present, Nippon Paper Industries sells OPER®, a water-resistant paper product
for use as wrapping paper for refrigerated products, guide maps, disaster-prevention
maps, golf score cards and other applications, and THE POSTER® for outdoor
posters. These are made from paper (containing non-chlorine bleached pulp and
pulp from planted trees and wastepaper), and have enjoyed popularity among a wide
range of users as environment-friendly products.
To respond to the needs of users who place top priority on durability, Nippon
Paper Industries is releasing a new product called STOUT®, with the slogan
"The ultimate in durability."
"STOUT" is an English word meaning durable, strong and tough. We have chosen the name to convey the high durability of this new product.
A product lineup to meet the needs of users
The release of STOUT®, in combination with the currently available THE POSTER®,
will establish a product group hitherto unseen in the industry, enabling Nippon
Paper Industries to respond to the needs of wide range of customers.
| STOUT®: | A synthetic paper made of 100% polyolefin fiber, with the ultimate water-resistance and durability, to withstand wind, rain and all other environmental conditions. |
| THE POSTER®: | Made by laminating both sides of the paper base with polyolefin resin (PP), and equipped with water-resistance and durability necessary for outdoor applications. THE POSTER® is an environmentally-friendly synthetic paper that can be printed on using ordinary inks. |
"White" "Gross" and "Opacity"
| White: | A sufficiently high degree of brightness enables characters and complexion colors to stand out on posters. |
| Gross: | STOUT® is a hybrid paper product, which has a glossy surface on one side and a matte surface on the other. This enables users to choose either texture on one paper product. The high degree of gloss makes the posters more striking and sharply expressed. |
| Opacity: | A high degree of opacity prevents the wall and board textures from being seen through the poster after posting, and ensures that the poster is sharply represented. |
OPER Web site to be renewed
The OPER Web site will be renewed, to accompany the release of STOUT®.
Currently, the OPER Web site displays OPER®, OPER Plus and THE POSTER®
products. STOUT® will now be added to the product line. The renewed Web site
will be available in June.
