Nippon Paper Group
Nippon Daishowa Paperboard Co., Ltd.

Nichiita Package Industries Co., Ltd., a member of the Nippon Daishowa Paperboard Group and a corrugated carton board specialist, has reached an agreement with Toyohozai Co., Ltd. under which Nichiita Package Industries will take over the Toyohozai’s corrugated carton board business section. The two companies have recently signed an agreement for the transfer of the business.
Under the agreement, Nichiita Package Industries will take over the manufacture and sales functions of the corrugated carton board business section at Toyohozai’s Koga Mill, located in Sowa-machi, Sarushima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, on November 1, 2004.
Koga Mill of Toyohozai is situated adjacent to Ibaraki Mill of Nichiita Package Industries. The two companies have enjoyed a close relationship with each other, under which Nichiita Package Industries has manufactured and sold corrugated fiberboard sheets while Toyohozai has processed them into cartons.
After the takeover, Ibaraki Mill of Nichiita Package Industries will integrate the two production facilities to improve efficiency. It will therefore be undertaking the integrated production of sheets and cartons with the aim of adding value and further expanding the corrugated carton board business.
