Nippon Paper Industries set up"Subcommittee on Utilizing Forest Resources to Increase Domestic Food Self-Sufficiency Rate, including Feed" at "Regional Revitalization SDGs Public-Private Partnership Platform" in October.
Based on the CompanyCattle Feed "Genki Sensen", we will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs together with the local community.
The "Regional Revitalization SDGs Public-Private Partnership Platform" was established by the Cabinet Office as a place for public-private partnerships to deepen partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders with the aim of promoting the implementation of the SDGs in Japan and leading to further regional revitalization.
"Breakout Committee" is established and held at the suggestion of members for the purpose of examining common issues, sharing knowledge, and collaborating in different fields. The aim is to create concrete projects that contribute to the SDGs for regional revitalization and to promote initiatives through public-private partnerships.
Utilizing forest resources will lead to the healthy growth of forests. By utilizing"Genki Morimen" for domestic forest timber, the domestic food self-sufficiency rate, including milk and beef feed, will be improved.
In addition, providing feed obtained from sustainable forests to the community in an interconnected manner will contribute"Regional Circular Symbiosis Sphere Concept (Ministry of the Environment)", and the establishment of recycling of forest resources will also be addressed to"Green Food System Strategy (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries)".
Against this background,the Company believe that our efforts to spread "Genki Sensen" have social value. We will continue to promote activities in cooperation with local governments and businesses that are interested in the purpose of this subcommittee.
