Paper and Paper Board Business
The Group paper and paper board business, which is the ancestral business of the Group, was established in 1873 by Eiichi Shibusawa“Paper and Printing are the Source of Civilization”. It started with the belief that for more than 150 years, we have been providing a wide range of paper products, including printing paper that conveys stories and information, and packaging and packaging paper that gently wraps gifts, deeply embedded in our daily lives and the foundations of society. By creating the value required by that era, we enrich people's lives and contribute to the development of society.

Paperboard Business
The thick paper that is the material for cardboard and boxes is called “Board Paper” . In the paperboard business, we provide container boards, which is the material for cardboard to protect important items and transport goods safely, and whitewhite paperboards for boxes, which adds color to products. We support the foundation of logistics and deliver peace of mind and value to our daily lives through reliable quality and trust.

Paper is a material for corrugated boxes, which is strong and durable. Liquid Packaging Business
We manufacture and sellpaper cartonsfor liquid foods such as milk, and boast the No. 1 market share in Japan. We are also focusing on the development of environmentally friendly paper cartonsand overseas expansion, and have established an integrated supply system within the Group, such as“NSATOM®"room temperature storage containers for solids.
Australia OPAL (Group Company)
We are developing packaging business such as paperboard, corrugated boxes, and folding cartons in the Oceania region. It strengthens its integrated business model from waste paper collection to corrugated boxes board product production and is at the core of packaging solutions in Oceania.
North America NDP (Group Company)
We manufacture and sell paper cartons base paper, cup container base paper and pulp for milk and beverages. In response to robust demand in the North American market, Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. aims to increase revenue through stable operations and maximizing production and sales, making it an important base for NIPPON PAPER GROUP global expansion.
Household Paper and Healthcare Business

Chemical Business
Chemical business is producing a variety of chemical products by utilizing cellulose and lignin, which are the main components of wood, without waste, based on the technology cultivated in pulp and paper production. Functional filmsthat make use of technology to make natural sweeteners and coated paper from dissolving pulp,celluloseproducts, lignin, and fermented products mainly made of wood, and functional coating resins using chlorine along with a variety of products, we will support a wide range of industries and lifestyles, including automobiles, electronics, and food, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society with high-performance materials.
Energy Business
Utilizing theknow-howofin-house power generation cultivated in the paper industry, we are developing a power generation business usingwoody biomass fuels. We will support people's lives with a stable power supply and work to build a carbon-neutral society by expanding the supply of renewable energy.
