Formulating the 2030VISION

Currently, the world is facing a major turning point, including various environmental issues centered on climate change and the response to the new coronavirus. Among them, the loop is a guide that depicts the Group Vision for 2030 and clarifies the management issues to achieve the Corporate Group Philosophy in order to pursue the realization of the Group Mission. We have formulated“2030VISION”as the line.

Promotion of Sustainability Management

In the 2030VISION, we will promote sustainability management that pursues both social  and environmental sustainability and corporate growth. The starting point for this is the Group Mission that represents the significance of the Group social existence. In order to meet the four requirements set forth in this philosophy“ Vision ”, we have extracted activity themes related to solving these issues and positioned them as important issues for the company. It will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs, which aim to build society.

Expand business scale in growth areas and develop new products based onwood resources, and transfer resources from the Paper Business, which is expected to continue to decline in demand, to new fields. We will continue to make changes and promote flexible redeployment of human resources. In addition, in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we will use co-firing of non-fossil fuels. In addition to expanding the rate, we will promote the development of new biomass fuels and review the energy mix centered on the elimination of coal. In addition,the Group is a forest by maximizing value and expanding products usingwood resources, we will contribute to the construction of a carbon-neutral society while strengthening our business foundation. Breeding and propagation by improving forest productivity through the use of technology, we aim to achieve“30% increase in CO2 sequestration efficiency” in overseas plantation sites by 2030, and aim to conserve biodiversity and we will also work to demonstrate public welfare functions by securing water resources, etc., and to revitalize forestry industry through the utilization of domestic company-owned Forests.

We will expand the scale of our business in growth areas and develop new products based on wood resources, convert resources from the Paper Business, which is expected to continue to decline in demand, to new fields, and promote flexible human resource redeployment. In addition, in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we will promote the development of new biomass fuels in addition to increasing the co-firing rate of non-fossil fuels, and review the energy mix centered on the elimination of coal. To realize the 2030VISION,the Group has formulated“Medium-Term Business Plan 2025”(FY2021~FY2025), which will be implemented over five years.
