Nippon Paper Industries Co.,Ltd. (head office : Chiyoda-ku,President and Representative Director: Toru Nozawa, hereinafter referred to as"the Company”) is currently producing high-grade white paper boards at Nippon Paper Crecia Co., Ltd.Koyo mill in order to streng then the cup Paper Business. The second paper machine(operated in 1966) will permanent machine shutdown at the end of November 2022, and the machine will be converted into a dedicated equipment for coating cupbase paperby the second half of FY2023.
The market for cupbase paper, which is mainly used for beverages and food containers, is becoming more active due to the increasing environmental awareness of "Plastic to Paper To". NIPPON PAPER GROUP currently produces cupbase paperat the No. 1paper machineat the Nippon Paper Crecia Co., Ltd.mill in addition to the Asahikawa, Ishinomaki, Otake, and Shiraoimill.
The No. 2 paper machine has been producing high-qualitywhite paperboardsfor commercial printing from paper making to coating, but in response to the growing demand for cupbase paper, we will work to produce a wider range of products by increasing the equipment dedicated to coating cupbase paper.
This production equipment remodeling is part ofthe Companycompany's "Shift of management resources to growth business" in our "2030VISION" to further improve the functionality and high added value of cupbase paperproduction.
