(Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo,President and Representative Director: Hiroyuki Nose, hereinafter referred to as "head office "Sapporo Beer") and Tocan Kogyo Co., Ltd. (head office : Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President &President and Representative Director: Toshiya Kasai, hereinafter referred to as "Tocan Kogyo") in collaboration with the 39th National Urban Greening Hokkaido Fair At Garden Festa Hokkaido 2022 (venue: Eniwa City, Hokkaido, period: 6/25~7/24), we conducted a demonstration experiment for the separate collection of usedPapercups with the participation of visitors.
This is a demonstration experiment in which Sapporo Breweries serves draft beer to visitors in paper cups, washes and collects paper cups using a cup washing machine developed by Tocan Kogyo at food and beverage venues, and the Company the collected paper cups intocontainerboards.
Used paper cups are designated as contraindicated items in the classification of Waste Paper by the Waste PaperRecycling Promotion Center, and are usually incinerated as general waste. However, in response to the recent market demand forpaper cartonsrecycling, the three companies are aiming to recycle newly usedpaper cartons, and this demonstration experiment was conducted as part of an awareness-raising campaign to deepen consumers' correct understanding of usedpaper cartonsrecycling.
By experiencing washing paper cups, consumers will feel that they have participated in a new recycling activity,Employee Retentionto establish a society of usedpaper cartonsrecycling.
<Flow of used paper cup sorting collection and recycling demonstration experiment>
(1) Sapporo Beer: Beer is served to visitors inPapercups in a kitchen car.
(2) Visitors: After drinking beer, washPapercups using the cup washer RE-CUPWASHER® (manufactured by Tocan Kogyo) and put them into a special collection box.
(3) Collected paper cups: They are sent tothe Company Sokamill(Soka City, Saitama Prefecture) and recycled intocontainerboards.
