■Development history
From the perspective of contributing to the SDGs and protecting the global environment, Toshimaya, which had been considering reducing its use of disposable plastics, requested that the large plastic trays and air cushions used in the metal tins and paper boxes for Hato Sablé be replaced with paper. Development then began, including the switch of the outer pillow packaging to paper as well. The new packaging for Hato Sablé was adopted in October 2021, and Toshimaya estimates that this initiative will reduce its annual use of disposable plastics by 100 tons.
