Today, some news outlets reported to the effect that "Nippon Paper Industries, Akita mill Foreign Paper Considering withdrawing from / Akita Mill to reduce the abolition of one major equipment". the Company are consideringreorganization of the production system of our graphic Paper Businessand minimizingcoal consumptionwith the aim of reducing GHG Emissionsand fuel costs, and we are considering thepermanent machine shutdown of the N1 machine at the Akita mill in FY2023. and the shutdown of boiler No. 5.

Regarding the production structure of graphic Paper, we will continue to consider various measures in order to promote reorganization in consideration of the decline in product demand. As soon as specific measures are decided, we will announce them promptly.
