Utilization of Cellulose nanofiber"cellenpia(R)”confirms performance improvement of Tohoku Seisei's recycled fiber processing technology"MVA(R)

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. has confirmed that the performance of Tohoku Seiren Co., Ltd.'s recycled fiber processing technology"MVA®”has been improved by utilizing Cellulose nanofiber"cellenpia ®”.

"MVA®”used against recycled fibers such as Cellulose nanofiberIt is a technology that improves the properties of fibers. Recycled fibers are fibers spun by melting natural fibers such as wood and cotton through chemical reactions, such as cupra, rayon, and lyocell, and have a luster and smooth texture similar to natural silk, and are used in various clothing and other materials. The fashion industry has gained traction in recent years due to the rapidly increasing demand for sustainable materials. However, there are issues with recycled fibers"Difficult to wash", "Easy to shrink", "There is a concern about color fading"and so on, and Tohoku Seikyo has been working on"cellenpia ® since 2019" to improve it. " has developed an"MVA" that utilizes "MVA®”. We aim to reduce theenvironmental burdenby improving the fiber strength without damaging the texture of the fabric of recycled fibers, and promoting the conversion from petroleum-derived chemical fibers to recycled fibers.

In the future,Nippon Paper Industries will cooperate with the popularization of"MVA®”in the textile industry, including overseas of Tohoku Seisei, and aim to expand the market as soon as possible and expand the sales of"selenpia ®”.

Clothing samples using this technology will be introduced on February 16th and 17th at"Sustainable Textile Exhibition" hosted by Tohoku Seiren.
