Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.(head office : Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Toru Nozawa, hereinafter referred to as"the Company”) cellenpia PLAS^(R) (CNF (Cellulose nanofiber) reinforced resin) is promoted "was used as the interior and exterior material of a concept car using wood from Shizuoka Prefecture manufactured by " Fuji no Kuni CNF Project", and the realization of a circular economy andcarbon neutral societythrough the social implementation ofcellulosematerials,"Strengthening the foundation", "innovation" and "social implementation". the Companythe support of the NEDO Project*2, we are developing CNF-Reinforced Resin at the Company Fujimill(Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture) demonstration production facility, and we are using cellenpia PLAS^(R) manufactured at this demonstration facility. We have provided samples for the promotion of this project promoted by Project Professor Takuya Nishimura of the Faculty of Agriculture, Shizuoka University.

cellenpia PLAS^(R) is ainnovative materialsproduced by uniformly dispersing CNF, abiomassmaterial that utilizeswood resources, into resins such as polypropylene and nylon 6. In addition to reducing the weight of components currently made of resin, it is expected to be used in fields such as automobiles,Buildimg Material, and home appliances because it leads to a reduction in plastic usage and greenhouse gas emissions, mainly_CO2, due to its excellent material recyclability.

 

The concept car using wood from Shizuoka Prefecture will be exhibited at booth "Fuji no Kuni cellulose Circular Economy International Exhibition"one of the world's largest exhibitions featuringcellulose, which is being held in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture from October 24th (Thursday)~October 25th (Friday).
