ACT FOR SKY held its first symposium
Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.
On Monday, December 2, 2024,"ACT FOR SKY Symposium ~Pioneering the Skies of the Future, the Forefront of Domestic SAFs~" will be held at Haneda Airport.
ACT FOR SKY is an all-Japan initiative to achieve carbon-neutral skies through the establishment and dissemination of a domestic supply chain for sustainable aviation fuel SAF(*). This initiative, which started in 2022 with 16 participating companies, now has 45 members of companies and organizations active. At this time, when Japan's first domestically produced SAF plant will start operation in early FY2025 (scheduled), we will provide information on the latest status and issues of domestic SAF so that people can further understand domestic SAF and support the activities of ACT FOR SKY members.
Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. as a member of ACT FOR SKY, is entitled"Turning the Power of Forests into the Power of Flight！ Initiatives for Pure Domestic Wood SAF", which promotes forest recycling,decarbonization, and regional development through Bioethanol production using domestic wood chips as raw materials. We will give a presentation on initiatives with great value and potential.

(*) SAF is an abbreviation for Sustainablesustainable aviation fuelFuel, which is a fuel that can reduce emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas, by replacing fossil-derived jet fuel with aviation fuel produced from circular raw materials.
