(head office : Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo,President and Representative Director: Toru Nozawa, hereinafter referred to as"Nippon Paper Industries") ”TOKAN KOGYO CO., LTD.. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Toshiya Kasai, hereinafter referred to as "Tocan Kogyo"), a consolidated subsidiary of Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Co., Ltd. (head office : Shinagawa-ku,President and Representative Director: Toshiya Kasai, hereinafter referred to as"Tocan Kogyo”), is a consolidated subsidiary of Toyo Seikan Group Holdings Co., Ltd. We have realized"recycling of "paper cup to paper cup”, in which used beverage paper cups collected separately collected on board are recycled into new paper cups. This is the first initiative in Japan to recycle used paper cups and recycle them into new paper cups. (As of May 7, 2024, according to the three companies) The newly recycled paper cups (hereinafter referred to as"recycled paper cups”) will be provided on JAL domestic flights departing from Haneda in June, which is Environment Month.
■Background
The JAL Group, in collaboration with NIPPON PAPER GROUP, has been separating and recycling paper cups used in in-flight services since December 2022. The route subject to the collection of paper cups started from the Tokyo (Haneda) = Okinawa (Naha) line, and is now expanded to the Tokyo (Haneda) = Sapporo (New Chitose) / Asahikawa, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, and Okinawa (Naha) lines. (Applicable to flights operated by Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 767-300ER aircraft)*
The collected paper cups have been recycled into paper products such ascorrugated boxes, but with the cooperation of our customers, the accuracy of paper cup sorting and collection on JAL machines has been improved, and food and beveragepaper cartons at Nippon Paper Industries mill With the establishment of a new dedicated recycling facility and the advancement of Tocan Kogyo's manufacturing technology, a horizontal recycling scheme for paper cups has been established, and the horizontal recycling of "Paper cup to Paper cup" has been realized.

Ends as soon as stocks run out. Depending on the weather and other conditions on the route, we may not be able to provide it.

Specification : 25%Recycled pulp(including paper cups used on board for some Recycled pulp)
The characteristic black spots of recycled Paper may mix into thePaper, but there is no problem with the quality.
Although the provision of recycled Papercups is a limited-time initiative, in order to pass on the rich earth to the next generation, we will continue to promote continuous initiatives to realize acirculation-oriented society together with our customers, such as considering expanding the number of routes eligible for separate collection of Papercups and the provision of recycled Papercups.
