About the Fuji City CNF Brand Certification of Rice Flour Noodles“Fujisan Hirara”

Nippon Paper Industries Co.,Ltd.

Our cellulose nanofiber(hereinafter referred to as“CNF”) "cellenpia(R))" rice flour noodles“Fujisan Hirara” from Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture have been certified as Fuji City CNF brands, and a certificate issuance ceremony was held on April 3.

“Fujisan Hirara”is a rice flour noodle made with rice from Fuji City, which is sold by the Women's Department of the Fuji City Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Shizuoka Prefecture, and we have cooperated with the renewal last year. By using "cellenpia(R)", we improved the shape retention and texture, which were issues with rice flour noodles, and prevented the noodles from breaking or deforming after boiling, and achieved a chewy and throat texture. In addition, our efforts to add value by combining locally produced rice and water products with CNF to improve quality and add value to gluten-free have been evaluated, leading to this certification.

“Fujisan Hirara”is a product that can be expected to contribute to city promotion by expanding sales channels and developing new products in the future, as well as collaborating with Fuji City.
The certificate awarding ceremony was held at the city hall, and the certificate was issued by the mayor of Fuji Fuji, Kaneji, with the participation of the Fuji City Chamber of Commerce and us, the head of the Hatakeda Fuji Innovative Materials Research Laboratory.

The mayor said “we hope that the further spread of CNF-based products will continue to invigorate Fuji City.”and expressed his expectations.
