Notice Concerning the Conclusions of a Memorandum of Understanding on Collaboration Consideration

Nippon Paper Industries Co.,Ltd., Tokushu Tokai Paper Co., Ltd.,Nippon Tokai Industrial Paper Supply Co., Ltd., and Tomoku Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding to consider collaboration.

In recent years, with the increasing environmental awareness to realize a sustainable society, the need for high-quality products with low environmental burden has become pronounced, as the entire supply chain needs to be optimized. In the domestic corrugated boxes industry, in addition to the increase in demand due to the expansion of the e-commerce market, there is a growing need to strengthen environmental regulations, improve recycling rates, and reduce logistics costs and save resources.

In order to respond to these changes in the business environment and meet the diverse needs of customers, the four companies have agreed to mutually utilize the technology, knowledge, and resources they have cultivated through the manufacture and sale of corrugated cardboard and container boards to consider the possibility of collaboration. Based on this memorandum, the four companies will establish a joint forum for discussion and consider the following multifaceted collaborations with the aim of realizing a sustainable society.

 

Future Collaboration Items

(1) Joint product development: Joint development of new products and technologies
(2) Cost optimization by utilizing each company's resources: Reducing costs and stabilizing procurement by improving production and logistics efficiency
(3) Closed-loop collaboration on Waste Paper: Strengthening Waste Paper collection and reuse system
(4) Marketing cooperation: Joint implementation of promotional activities to end customers
(5) Possibility of creating synergies through collaboration other than the above
