Notice Regarding the Accident at U.S. Subsidiary Nippon Dynawave Packaging

We deeply regret to inform you that a tank collapse occurred at the facility of our U.S. subsidiary, Nippon Dynawave Packaging, located in Washington State, U.S.A., and we have confirmed that this has resulted in multiple casualties.

We express our deepest condolences and offer our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.

We also sincerely apologize for the immense concern and inconvenience this has caused to the local community, our business partners, and all related parties. 

 

The status of the damage caused by the accident as of 11:00 a.m. (JST) on May 27 is as follows:

 

      1. Status of the Accident

         At approximately 7:00 a.m. local time on May 26, a chemical tank at the facility collapsed.

         The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

      2. Human Casualties

         We have confirmed that there are multiple casualties (fatalities and injuries). 

         We are continuing to gather further details.

      3. Equipment Damage

         We have confirmed damage to one chemical tank.

 

      4. Other

         The impact of this accident on our financial performance, the environment, production, and shipments is currently being assessed.
