Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Toru Nozawa) has announced a 15-25% price increase for both its printing & writing paper and business communication paper in Japan, for shipments on and after the 1^st of February 2023.

Despite our productivity and cost-cutting initiatives, we are not able to continue to absorb this combination of cost pressures due to the rapid drop in the exchange rate as well as the costs of raw materials and energy, which continue to be high and volatile.
