Nippon Paper Papylia Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Papylia Co., Ltd. (President: Masahiro Hirakawa), a member of the Nippon Paper Group, announces that it will support Yayoi Tokae, an event held in stricken areas to wish for recovery following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
At Yayoi Tokae, lanterns will be lit, paper lanterns floated down rivers, hot-air paper balloons released, and other acts of remembrance will take place in various devastated areas along the Pacific coast of Japan's Tohoku region, ranging from Oirasecho in Aomori Prefecture to Hironomachi in Fukushima Prefecture, on the evenings of Saturday and Sunday, March 10 and 11, one year after the earthquake. The hot-air paper balloons to be set afloat in the night sky in hopes of the regions' recovery are made from a Nippon Paper Papylia product - a paper that immediately dissolves on contact with water.

A variety of events in addition to Yayoi Tokae for supporting the recovery of the affected areas will be held. From Nippon Paper Papylia, ten enthusiastic employees will attend as volunteers to assist with 3.11 Yuriage no Tsudoi, which will take place in Yuriage, Natori-shi in Miyagi Prefecture.
