Nippon Tokai Industrial Paper Supply Co., Ltd. (head office : Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo,President and Representative Director: Satoru Muto, hereinafter referred to as“the Company”) of NIPPON PAPER GROUP is afunctional cardboardbase paper"Antiviral Liner MT22"will be developed, and sample work will begin in October.

“Antiviral Liner MT22” is acontainerboards developed by Nippon Paper Industries that contains modifiedcellulose*1 with antiviral, antibacterial, and deodorizing properties on the surface layer. is. It has been confirmed that the high antiviral, antibacterial, and deodorizing effects of metal ions reduce the adherent virus by more than 99% in two hours, so it is assumed that it will be used on cardboard where there are many opportunities for human contact. *2

“Antiviral Liner MT22” has obtained the certification for antiviral processing established by the Antimicrobial Products Technology Council on September 9, 2022.*3

This product will also be exhibited at NIPPON PAPER GROUP booth at TOKYO PACK 2022 (2022 Tokyo International Packaging Exhibition) to be held at Tokyo Big Sight on October~14th.
