Nippon Paper Group, Inc. (President: Yoshio Haga) has discussed electric power transmission to the Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated and Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. from the main mills of the major group companies: Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshio Haga) and Nippon Daishowa Paperboard Co., Ltd. (President: Hironori Iwase), having received requests from the two utilities to supply power.
The Group has decided to provide a maximum of around 95,000 kW of electric power to Tokyo Electric Power Company and Tohoku Electric Power, generated by restarting the operations of the suspended power generation facilities in addition to excess power generated by the full-scale operation of in-house power generation facilities. Each of the mills will conclude an agreement on electric power supply with each of the electric power companies. Power transmission will start in late June once it is ready.

Ishinomaki Mill of Nippon Paper Industries (Ishinomaki, Miyagi) is currently restoring its power generation facilities. The Group will discuss electric power supply to Tohoku Electric Power after the restoration is completed.
