Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Fumio Manoshiro) will establish "Paper Planet," a new system to achieve improvements in the accuracy of order status management and product traceability, in a bid to reinforce sales of its paper business.

The Company set out to "contribute to better living and cultural progress everywhere it dose" as the corporate group mission, as formulated in the fifth medium-term business plan (FY2015 - FY2017). By contributing to the progress of paper culture, we aim to become a corporate group that society needs for many years to come. In the fifth mid-term business plan, "strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses" starting with the paper business, our core business, continues to be one of the key themes.

In line with this direction, the Company has decided to introduce "Paper Planet," a new system, to reinforce efforts to sell printing/business communication/industrial paper. By combining this system with "PRIME," an existing production/sales/stock management system, we can "visualize" progress in the production of orders and improve product traceability through barcode management. With the new system, we will be able to respond to inquiries faster, so that customers feel more secure and have more trust in the Company when using our products. The system, which will be introduced gradually starting in fiscal 2016, will be up and running in Hokkaido Mill-Shiraoi, Akita Mill, Ishinomaki Mill, Iwakuni Mill and Yatsushiro Mill by the end of fiscal 2017.

The Company will continue working to improve operational efficiency in both production and sales in order to be a company always chosen by customers as a leading company in the paper business.
