Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Toru Nozawa, hereinafter "the Company") is pleased to announced that its TEMPO oxidized CNF "Cellenpia^®" has been used in the high performance tire "ENASAVE NEXTⅢ" newly released by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd.(President: Satoru Yamamoto, hereinafter "SRI",) , marking a world-first.

SRI has declared the "SMART TYRE CONCEPT" as a new technological development objective to developing distinctly new tires that achieve even greater safety performance and even better environmental performance to adapt to the new mobility-focused society with its increasing number of clean and convenient cars.

"ENASAVE NEXTⅢ" has been developed as a high-performance tire with greater environmental performance across the entire product lifecycle including raw materials and product usage. Since the Company's product Cellenpia^®, made from wood, which is the renewable resource, comports with this concept, it was adopted for use after successful performance testing.
