Respect for Human Rights
Basic Stance
NIPPON PAPER GROUP established the NIPPON PAPER GROUP Human Rights Policy (hereinafter, "Human Rights Policy") in accordance with global standards such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, to carry out more effective activities to respect human rights in an effort to realize the Group Mission.
In accordance with the Human Rights Policy, the Group will reinforce respect for human rights across the entire value chain.
Promotion Structure
The Group has established its Risk Management Committee, chaired by the president and representative director and operating under the supervision of the Board of Directors of the Company, to address risks related to human rights.
Human Rights Due Diligence
The Company has introduced a human rights due diligence mechanism based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and conducts risk reduction activities through regular risk assessments, in addition to initiatives to confirm respect for human rights in the value chain and various human rights surveys.
Remedy Mechanism
The Company accepts inquiries regarding concerns about any possible human rights violation through the "NIPPON PAPER GROUP Helpline," an internal whistleblower system, and the "Contact Us" page on its website.
