Basic Stance
NIPPON PAPER GROUP wants to participate in society as a member and contribute to its development. We believe that the relationship of trust with the local community is the foundation for the stable business operation of each site. In order to gain society's trust and continue our business activities in harmony with the local community, we will continue to supply products that society needs, and we will continue to accumulate activities that contribute to the protection of the global environment and the development of culture and local communities.
Promotion Structure
Nippon Paper Industries's Sustainability Transformation Division, each mill, sales branches, and group companies are continuously implementing activities to deepen coexistence with each community.

Local community activities
The Group promote initiatives rooted in the regions in Japan and overseas where we operate, such as beautifying local communities, disaster prevention, welfare activities, and providing opportunities for awareness-raising. The Group also provide disaster relief by providing relief supplies to the affected areas.
Environmental Activities
The Group promotes initiatives that contribute to the construction of a circulation-oriented society and the conservation and restoration of the global environment in collaboration with local stakeholders, such as promoting biodiversity conservation and recycling activities using company-owned forests, and participating in local water resource protection and improvement programs.
Educational Activities
The Group believes that excellent education for future leaders is essential for the inheritance of culture and the development of local communities in the future. The Group continues to engage in initiatives such as cooperating with employees in natural environment classes and school classes, and providing educational opportunities through sports.
