Efforts to Improve Product Safety
In FY2021, the Group established minimum standards common to all Group companies for product safety and quality assurance with the aim of bolstering product safety management.
Major Group companies formulated and implemented product risk management regulations based on the minimum standards.
Quality Management
In order to deliver safe products to customers, the Group complies with domestic and international laws and regulations and manages products according to their characteristics.
Depending on the characteristics of our business and products, the Group has acquired a number of quality management systems (ISO9001) and food safety management systems (FSSC22000, ISO22000, HACCP, GMP*, etc.) at our domestic and overseas production sites.
*Abbreviation for Good Manufacturing PracticeMajor Group companies have established a quality control system based on product risk management regulations. In case of product failure, the Company has a contact system, ensures traceability, and purchases product liability insurance.
Stable Supply of Products
To supply our customers with the quantity they need when needed, the Group has built a robust supply system and is ready to respond to unforeseen circumstances.
The Company is securing stable supplies of raw materials and systematically developing and updating production facilities.
Sales departments and production departments coordinate in developing flexible and lean production plans and inventory management.
Anticipating that carrying out normal business operations will become difficult in the event of large-scale disasters, outbreaks of infectious diseases, and other serious consequences, each department formulates a BCP (business continuity plan) and reviews it as necessary.
If the supply of newsprint becomes difficult due to disasters or other reasons, the Company has a system in place to ensure smooth supply jointly with member companies of the Japan Paper Association’s Newsprint Committee.
