Pulverized pulp products
What are pulverized pulp products?
Pulverized pulp products are materials made from unbleached pulp that has been mechanically pulverized into cotton-like forms (approx. 100 μm) or powder-like forms (approx. 30-60 μm). As a renewable resource derived from wood, its applications are being explored, and it is expected to be utilized in various fields due to its excellent hygroscopicity and chemical reactivity.
Pulverized pulp products (Primary pulverized products: cotton-like pulverized pulp products, Secondary pulverized products: unbleached pulverized pulp products)
These are products made by mechanically pulverizing unbleached pulp into fine particles, such as cotton-like forms (approx. 100 μm particle size) and powder-like forms (approx. 30-60 μm particle size).
Differences from existing pulverized pulp products (KC flocks)
Unlike KC flock, it is unbleached, so it contains some lignin components and is light brown in color. Because it contains hemicellulose, it is rich in chemical reactivity and excellent in hygroscopicity. Hemicellulose is an amorphous polysaccharide that plays a role in reinforcing cell walls by bonding and crosslinking crystalline cellulose and hydrophobic lignin in wood.
Expected Applications
It is intended for fillers for plastics and rubber (to improve biomass content), water retention materials, construction and civil engineering chemicals, binders, pigments, filtration aids, fillers, spacers, paints, polyurethane synthetic leather, coatings for welding rods, animal feed, and thermal insulation.
