Water-Soluble Kraft Lignin Salt (Under Development)
At our laboratory, we chemically convert water-insoluble kraft lignin into a water-soluble form and are exploring its potential applications.
Differences from Lignosulfonates
Kraft lignin is extracted from wood under alkaline conditions, whereas lignosulfonates are extracted under acidic conditions. As a result, the two differ in structure. Although lignosulfonates are also water-soluble, they are essentially different from water-soluble kraft lignin salts.
Potential Applications
Potential applications include dispersants, binders, and chelating agents. Owing to structural differences, water-soluble kraft lignin salts may exhibit behavior different from that of lignosulfonates.
Sample Availability
Samples of water-soluble kraft lignin salt are available. Samples of lignosulfonates and kraft lignin can also be provided. Please contact us using the inquiry form below.
