Water-soluble polymer

Our lignin-based products are utilized in a wide range of fields and applications, through our research and development of lignin. We have developed lignin products as water-soluble dispersants that can dramatically improve the workability of concrete during manufacturing. Building on the study of dispersant cultivated with our lignin products, we also have developed synthetic dispersants such as naphthalene sulfonate formaldehyde condensates, polycarboxylates copolymers (acrylic acid-based water-soluble polymers) to meet the diverse needs of a wide range of industries. These polymers are mainly used as a “cement dispersant” that enhance concrete durability. We can also offer new lignin-based products that exhibit unique dispersion characteristics by utilizing our expertise in lignin modification technology. 

StarLigno™

Lignin-based polymers faced the challenge of being less effective than synthetic polymers in improving the stability. NPI have developed lignosulfonate-derived surfactants; StarLigno. Based on our commitment to make efficient use of wood, StarLigno are unique additives that combines a highly durability enhancement and a strong surfactant effect.

Polycarboxylates

NPI meet the needs of a wide range of industrial fields as aqueous dispersants and chelating agents. Among them, polycarboxylate ether polymers (concrete admixture polymers) are comb-shaped polymers with anionic functional groups. They exhibit excellent dispersion performance (slurry fluidity and dispersion stabilization) provided by the alkylene glycol chains. They are mainly used as concrete dispersants (water reducer), inorganic powder dispersants, pigment dispersants. Concrete admixtures and water reducers are manufactured and sold by our group company, Frohlich Co., Ltd.
