In October 2016, the Companymerged the sales divisions of Nippon Paper Industries Co.,Ltd. and Tokushu Tokai Paper Co., Ltd. into a partnership between thecontainerboardsand the heavy bag and general double-layer kraft paper businesses. In April 2020, we expanded our business scope by receiving the transfer of the specialPaperboard Business from Nippon Paper Industries Co.,Ltd.
We believe that our maincontainerboardswill continue to be strong in the future, with stable demand as a packaging material for daily necessities such as beverages and food, as well as demand related to e-commerce. As the largest manufacturer of specialized base paper, we will accurately grasp market needs and actively engage in sales activities.
the Company strength lies in our ability to manufacture and sell high-quality products atmillwith industry-leading production facilities located nationwide, including the Akitamill, which is a seasidemill, the Ashikaga mill, the Soka mill, the Fuji mill, the Shin-Tokai Paper Shimada mill, and the Otake mill. We will continue to take advantage of our location in ourmill that can supply both domestically and internationally to achieve a stable supply to our customers.
We will continue to actively promote initiatives such as optimizing production and transportation efficiency and differentiating ourselves with high-value-added products that utilize our ownkraft pulp.
