Press ReleasesNippon Paper Industries Restructures Production System of Liquid Packaging Carton Business and Establishes New Technical CenterGaining strength as a total system supplier of liquid packaging carton

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Fumio Manoshiro) is undertaking the aggregation of the liquid packaging carton production bases in Japan, building a more efficient production system, and establishing the new ' Technical Center' as a development base for liquid packaging carton products in order to gain strength in the liquid packaging carton business. Details are as follows.

As a national leader in the liquid packaging carton business, we are focusing on establishing a system that will enable us to become a total system supplier, working from base paper up to the processing, and sale and maintenance of filling machines. In March this year, we entered into a license agreement for new products with the Norwegian company 'Elopak AS' to introduce a range of gable-top cartons to the Japanese market, which the company already sells in many parts of the world. In addition, we acquired the liquid packaging board business from 'Weyerhaeuser Company' in the United States, and commenced operation from September this year as a new company, 'Nippon Dynawave Packaging Co.'
As a result of gaining strength, we will be able to respond flexibly and timely to the customers' diverse needs, taking the global market into consideration, as well as contributing to the realization of a better life for people by proposing new value.
