Three New Subsidiaries Start Operations
Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.
Tokyo, October 1, 2002 - Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd., Japan's leading paper and pulp manufacturing company and core member of Nippon Unipac Holding Group, announced that three of its diversified business divisions, namely the Foreign Lumber Trading Division, Pure-Pak Division, and the DP & Chemical Products Division, were split off and reorganized into independent subsidiaries, with each of the new companies having formally been established and launched business operations on October 1.
Each of the new subsidiaries will leverage its technological capabilities and business strengths cultivated to date, in addition to conducting its own independent management activities, which will allow managerial and operational initiatives to be pursued in yet a speedier manner. From here on in, the companies will aim to be at the forefront of their respective industries and strive to achieve enhanced profitability as firms that play key roles in the Nippon Paper Industries group.
