The Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd., announced on Tuesday May 7th that Masao Kobayashi currently Senior Managing Director has been named to lead the company as a new president.

Kobayashi (63) will succeed Takeshiro Miyashita, who will become chairman,and Choji Kuramochi, chairman will become adviser, the company said.

The appointment will be formalized by the board of directors after a general shareholders' meeting on June 27, 1996.
