After being affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Ishinomaki Mill (Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture) of Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. resumed today the operation of its core machine, paper machine N6. Four paper machines and one coating machine at the Ishinomaki Mill have now resumed operations. The resumption means that the production capability has already recovered to 80% of about 850,000 tons/year, the total capacity of the fully restored Ishinomaki Mill.
The Ishinomaki Mill is consistently repairing its paper machine 7, paper machine N2 and coating machine 2 in an effort to facilitate the restoration efforts.
