InformationNippon Paper Industries Announces Appointment of Chemical Division Representative in Bangkok

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Yoshio Haga) has decided to assign a representative from its Chemical Division (General Manager: Masami Yoshiki) to Bangkok, as of April 1, 2013. This will be the Chemical Division's first overseas representative.

A key element of Nippon Paper Industries' diversifying business, the Chemical Division serves as a production base for dissolving pulp. In addition to manufacturing products that make the best possible use of wood, including lignin products, processed pulp products, additives to improve adhesion in coatings and inks, yeast and nucleic acid, the division also supplies a wide range of products such as functional films and sweeteners.

Product exports have continued to increase in line with economic development throughout Asia in recent years, resulting in a similar increase in imports of raw materials from Asian countries. As such, the region as a whole is becoming an increasingly important focus for the Chemical Division. Thailand in particular exports large volumes of products and is also well placed for gathering information as a regional hub.

With that in mind, although Nippon Paper Industries has already established the representative office in Bangkok, Thailand, it has been decided to assign a representative from Chemical Division too, in order to reinforce customer information channels and create even more new business opportunities.
