On October 13, 2015, Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Fumio Manoshiro) will begin selling the new U-LITE Dry, an exciting new paper featuring high-level drying performance and rub resistance for inks.

Together with an increase in short-run orders, print customers are calling for faster deliveries, and imposing increasingly strict requirements on printing reproducibility. In response, the demand from printers for paper with the capability of drying inks quickly is growing year after year.

The new U-LITE Dry has been developed from U-LITE which is a leading brand in the company's coated paper range. It uses finer particles than those used in conventional paper coating materials, which means that the oil components of inks to penetrate the paper better. This has enabled Nippon Paper to achieve the industry's best ink drying performance.New U-LITE Dry maintains the smooth surface of the paper, contributing to the improved wear resistance of inks and the production of paper with enhanced rub resistance. Normally, if paper has high ink absorption capacity, print gloss tends to suffer. However, by careful choice of the most suitable materials and radical review of their recipe, Nippon Paper has not only enhanced the drying performance of inks and improved the reproducibility of printing, but has also achieved printing reproducibility that surpasses that of conventional products.
