Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd.

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. (President: Fumio Manoshiro; hereinafter "the Company") announces the completion of the construction of manufacturing facilities on the premises of the Ishinomaki Mill for Carbon-free Fly Ash (CfFA®), a type of high quality fly ash that serves as a concrete admixture. The facilities were completed as initially scheduled, with the completion ceremony being held on December 22,2015.

It is known that concrete containing fly ash is extremely durable and long lasting. CfFA® is expected to be used more often in the future because it is stable in quality and offers an easy-to-use admixture for concrete that paves the way for manufacturing high quality concrete. The completed CfFA® manufacturing facilities at the Ishinomaki Mill have a production capacity of nearly one ton per year. After the distribution of samples produced by trial operation, the Company will embark on full-scale sales of CfFA® in the spring of 2016.
(Note) CfFA® samples will be offered free of charge (delivery expenses paid separately) from January 2016 to March 2016.

Operating under the slogan of Shaping the Future with Trees, the Company is making extensive use of wood biomass at its main Ishinomaki Mill, and is working on different forms of business expansion in energy and other areas. In the future, the Company will utilize coal boiler combustion ash as a recycled resource, and offer materials that aid the recovery of the Tohoku region from the devastation of the earthquake based on the concept of local production for local consumption.
